Later printing of the important commentary on the Psalms, first published in Paris in 1577, by the Benedictine Gilbert Génébrard (1535-1597), one of the most important Hebraists of the French Renaissance. – The last quires with moisture stain, otherwise only slightly browned or brownstained. A well-preserved copy in the monastery binding of the Mauerbach Charterhouse near Vienna, with a corresponding ownership entry on the title and the monastery coat of arms with the capital “M” and the inscription “Maurbacensis Cartusiae” on the back cover. The monastery was devastated by the Turks in 1529 and only flourished again at the beginning of the 17th century.
