Bound in Vellum. Contains the bookplate of collector Henri Tardivi. The front paste down has hand written text in French which translates to “Supplementary copy from the Library of the duc d’Amale, given by the Prince to M. Bachalin, with other works. See the cachet seal at the end and at the beginning.”. The spine appears to have been glued to the vellum. Red speckled outer page block. Pages lightly toned, generally clean. The rear paste down is lifting.

Roman historian and poet.Florus, Roman historian, lived in the time of Trajan and Hadrian. He wrote a ‘History of Rome’, mainly based on Livy, much used in the Middle Ages. Often confused with Publius Annaeus Florus.
